Sharon Volpe
The work of this New York-based illustrator and painter delves into the emotional complexity of the human experience, bringing inner states to the surface through expressive faces, playful iconography, and symbolic narratives. Trained first in graphic design at the School of Visual Arts, she went on to earn an M.F.A. in Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2016.
Her visual language, at once whimsical and psychologically acute, has found a place in editorial and advertising contexts as well as contemporary gallery settings. Her original artwork has been selected for inclusion in 3x3 International Illustration Annual 16, Every Woman Biennial, and American Illustration (Books 38 through 42), among other notable illustration and contemporary art platforms such as ILLO2020, Parallel Worlds (Spotlight Magazine), and Contemporary Art Curator Magazine.
