RAMSAY ALLAN

Scottish artist Ramsay Allan, born in 1962, is a self-taught painter whose creative journey began following a transformative experience with his vision. Eighteen years ago, Allan underwent lens replacement surgery that restored his eyesight to near 20-20 vision, allowing him to see the world in a completely new light. This pivotal moment became the catalyst for his artistic pursuits.

Specializing in oil painting, Allan combines his drawing studies with vibrant colors to explore surrealism, drawing inspiration from the interplay of dreams and the spiritual realm. For him, creating is a deeply spiritual process, guided by subconscious connections to the divine.

Allan holds a BAcc degree from Napier University in Edinburgh, earned in 1993. A member of the Visual Arts Association, he currently works from his home studio in Angus, Scotland, where he continues to develop his distinctive style and artistic vision.
