“This piece reminds me of the sites and sounds I experienced as a boy walking along the seafront looking at theBlackpool Illuminations with all the flashing lights and animations to dazzle and delight.”

As an artist Mitchel has been creating artworks since his early 30’s taking inspiration from all walks of life from nature and architecture to science and cosmology. Over the last few years Mitchel has been inspired by artists such as Chihuly and Zhuang Hong-yi who have mastered sculptural art using mixed media and consequently fired up his interest in multi-dimensional artwork. Hence in his latest artwork series he has created pieces utilising 3-

dimensional art structures, that change colour depending on the viewing angle.

Mitchel likes to think that his art should try to capture the viewer's interest and engage with their intellect to hopefully inspire and provoke a dialog. Although Mitchel has never studied or trained as an artist, he has always been interested in design and aesthetics, continually exploring new techniques and materials to keep himself engaged and hopefully his audiences also.
